KINGART® has developed an exceptional range of artist-quality PRO soft pastels that offer great covering and blending power because of their soft powder richness. Every stick is scanned individually to guarantee purity and an even distribution of pigment.

This meticulous process ensures a predictably constant hue for use in sketching, undercoating, and finished work. Our pastels contain more pigment, so the rich color can easily be blended or smudged with a finger or tool as you create your masterpiece. Each stick measures 2.5” x .375” x .375”.

Absolutely beautiful ❣️ My granddaughter loves it. The colors are exactly as describe, ❤️. Delivery was lighting fast❣️ Also received a free sketch pad. Kingart really did deliver, will definitely be doing more business with them.

Adequate for Beginners

The box and trays are not suitable for storage, and the storage bag doesn't come close to fitting everything and would ruin the oil pastels and charcoal if thrown in together, but the supplies are nice for beginners to try different things out. The drawing paper is poor quality, thin and soft, but again, good for beginners to save money while experimenting. I pulled everything out and put it all into small pencil boxes, pill boxes etc in a small bin so it could be kept organized. I would probably look for a better pencil sharpener, but everything else is adequate and the clipboard is very big and the kids love carrying it around by its handle feeling like artists!

Big selection of student-grade pastels -- well suited for experimentation, but not for professionals

These are student pastels, not pro pastels. Which is OK, since they're priced like student pastels. They're rather hard and chalky for soft pastels and the colors are less than brilliant, but they're fine for playing around and experimenting. The wood case is meant to impress when given as a gift, but as with so many gift cases it's kinda cheap and meant to suggest that the product is grander than it actually is. A utilitarian box with stiffer foam would have been preferable and would have indicated a more serious product.

Love these, though they're softer than I'm used to

It took me a little practice to get used to how crumbly these are, but now that I've got the hang of it, I love the bold colors and heavy pigment they lay down. This is a great set for any student or hobbyist, with a really nice selection of colors. The softness of the medium makes it super easy to blend, almost like a paint, so it's very versatile. Just remember to be careful about the large quantities of color dust....
